Visual storytelling for Smart Local Energy Systems and Bristol’s Net Zero 2030 pledge

Commissioned by the Bristol Digital Futures Institute, this project explored how visual communication can support public understanding and engagement around smart local energy systems.

Working closely with researchers, community partners, and local residents, I developed a wide range of creative materials — from posters and postcards to board game illustrations and a multi-page graphic report — all designed to open up conversations about the city’s digital energy future.

The work played a role in public exhibitions, media features, and policy discussions — helping to explain complex socio-technical ideas, provoke public debate, and galvanise community support for Bristol’s Net Zero goals.
